Metropolitan Division of Public Safety, Inc. (MDPS) is seeking “qualified” and “professional” qualified and professional private investigators for future positions in Texas. Applicants MUST meet all the following minimal conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Active Private Investigator License (Must be licensed in the state of Texas)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in private investigations or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, forensic science, or a related discipline
  • Must be either United States citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Clean background with no criminal history
  • Excellent Interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • Must have a clean Driving Record. DRIVE HISTORY as condition of employment. (If required)
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Prior law enforcement or military experience preferred

 Responsibilities:

  • Conduct interviews with witnesses, potential suspects, and relevant parties
  • Observe individuals or locations discreetly to document activities using photography or video recording
  • Research public records, criminal history, credit reports, and other databases to verify information
  • Utilize online databases, court records, and other sources to locate individuals or gather evidence
  • Compile detailed reports outlining investigation findings, observations, and evidence collected
  • Provide clients with clear, concise updates on case progress and findings
  • Ensure all investigations adhere to state and federal laws, including privacy and evidence-handling regulations

Prior employment, criminal and credit history (if applicable) will be verified. Drug Testing mandatory.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to carefully observe and document details accurately
  • Proficiency in using online databases, public records, and other sources
  • Ability to elicit relevant information effectively from witnesses and subjects
  • Conduct surveillance without detection and maintain confidentiality
  • Authoritative verbal communication skills
  • Analyze complex situations and develop investigative strategies
  • Ability to present findings in clear, detailed reports

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Law Enforcement, Forensic Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in private investigations, law enforcement, or related fields
  • Prior law enforcement or military experience preferred

License/Certification

  • Active Texas Private Investigator License (Commission Hard Card Required)
  • Valid Driver’s License
